Located across from the Community Pavilion, the David Johnston Building (9400 S. Oak Park Ave.) is available for party and event rentals. For more information and to check availability please call 708/857-2420. This building is dedicated in memory of Dr. David Johnston. Born: December 18, 1949; Died: May 18, 1980, while serving as a volcanologist for the United States Geological Survey during the eruption of Mount St. Helens in Washington. Dr. Johnston grew up in Oak Lawn and played baseball on the fields that surround the Johnston Center.
